1987’s world No2 and US Open Champion Anna Nordqvist is a daughter of a tennis coach and the only female member of the 25-strong European Tour. Like many of her peers, Nordqvist made her debut on the circuit at 13, holing a pair of eagles en route to victory in her first senior event in the Australian Ladies Masters in 2006. Before that she had made a name for herself by earning a leading position on the official women’s rankings for eight consecutive years. Nordqvist is a veteran on the court having played in the sport for 30 years, while she has continued to excel as a golfer, winning the US Women’s Open twice and the British Open. Her latest triumph was at last month’s Open in Southampton, England. She is a fantastic winner, full of energy, and all-round a great player. ‹ See full profile here
