An actress who played a maid in a short film about the 2010 deadly Oregon wildfire tweeted an apology to comedian Alec Baldwin after he was accused of breaking a window while filming a movie in the state.

Jayde Martinez, whose latest film is called Rust, asked if she could “please accept my apology for the incident yesterday that took place”.

Baldwin was arrested in McMinnville, Oregon, after officers responded to reports of trespassing.

Martinez tweeted: “I’m sorry if I offended anyone by rushing onto set on Tuesday to tell the crew the house belonged to someone important.

“I have not seen Alec since. He said great things about my performance the night I finished filming.

“I did not know the owner of the house and was legitimately concerned for his safety. I have reached out to the owner to wish him well.”

Oregon Live reported a woman said Baldwin and his wife, Hilaria, used a trailer to enter the property while she was asleep, and after her dog became scared, she woke up to find the vehicle and the Bercman family, who had lived in the house since 2005, standing inside.

Hilaria Baldwin later told the newspaper that there was “a rumor going around that I was running off with the guy”, adding: “I never met him. I’m sorry to everyone.”

The story is still developing.
