Rima Bashian is an award-winning Turkish designer with a true passion for architecture. It is this passion which has brought her into alignment with the team at Saham, based in Sefatgan in the restive province of Siirt, where they are creating a new golf destination.

CNN: What is Saham?

Rima Bashian: The name Saham is an ancient word for togetherness and friendship. Saham believes that through this understanding and togetherness we can make a better life for all members of society.

CNN: In other words, Saham is an initiative for friendship, from different cultures and backgrounds.

R.B.: Saham was founded to build a strong culture through shared history, knowledge and experiences.

Saham believes that getting to know each other and sharing of our cultures helps create a bond between each individual and building bridges between cultures as a cohesive process.

CNN: Where is the Saham project taking place?

R.B.: It is in a desolate area of Sefatgan which is between the province of Siirt and the province of Izmir.

It’s a new golf destination which will be built in two months and is being designed by Rima Bashian and Adnan Akyil. The entire project is composed of cultural workshops which will enable people to work and build and learn more about our different crafts.

CNN: Does Saham involve technology?

R.B.: There is a lot of technological change. The technology is based on a sport. One of the objectives is to teach people to combine technology and tourism to build a better place to live.

For this we need to get to know each other. With this purpose, Saham is creating tourism for Sefatgan and teaches people the exact tools to do their work and share knowledge and expertise.
